All the Juicy Details about Optimize

Location:

  • 3476 Akron Street, Central Park neighborhood of Denver, 80238

  • Caddy corner from a one block wide pocket park (fun fact, former Kinesis teacher Chris Campbell and current teacher Katie Eliason used to live on this pocket park and we would do Pilates in the Park together more than a decade ago!)

  • One block from 80-acre Central park, so feel free to add a walk in nature before or after your lesson.

Waiting Area:

You are welcome to wait on the front porch for your lessons….

…or in the dining room across the hall from the studio.

Optimize Main Studio:

These photos show the studio before it was fully decorated, but they give you an idea of what you can expect.  The studio is located in the front room of the house, has four south and west facing windows, a reformer that converts to a tower (which will be slid into the middle of the room for use), a chair, a brand new ped-o-pul, two small barrels and a foam mat.  There is also a piano in this room as two of my kids still play the piano and in fact, it’s the one I grew up playing as well!  A large closet to the side of the bookshelf contains plenty of storage space for additional props like foam rollers and foot correctors.

The basement studio is not yet ready but will be by August 2025 at the latest.  It will hold a Cadillac and High Barrel.  There are also weights and a pull up bar in the basement.  This was the original studio when I first began teaching in 2015.  The room is filled with mirrors, as well as art by local artists and photographs. The carpet is made of recycled fishnets.

One expectation I do want to set is that while the studio spaces will be clean and presentable, as well as the restrooms, I don’t plan to hold my family to the standard of having the house always clean.  As you can expect, a house with two high schoolers is going to have a basement that looks like high schoolers hang out there, with a ping pong table and a couch covered in blankets, pillows, and nerf gun bullets.  I apologize in advance to my clients, but I also don’t want my family to feel like the Pilates studio is taking over their lives any more than it already is.  Thank you for understanding!

Dog:

I have a 5-year old shepherd mix rescue mutt named Xena.  I will be leaving her upstairs unless you let me know on your intake form that you like dogs, aren’t allergic to them, and are willing to let her practice staying on her bed in the main floor of the house during lessons. Two weeks into Optimize operating, she is learning to leave clients alone for their lessons quite well.

Phone Free:

Optimize studio is tech free.  No phones or smart watches in the studio during the lessons please.  You can place them on the dining room table and unplug for 70-minutes.

No social media, Newsletter Sign Up:

I plan to not have any social media accounts.  However, I will be sending out monthly newsletters (sign up here), writing regularly on the Optimize blog, and creating workshops.  So if you want to learn from me outside of the studio, those are your options.

Photos:

Photography is my hobby and I love taking pictures.  But without social media, the need will be significantly less.  However, I may take some from time to time for newsletters.  If you’re not interested in being photographed, just mark that on your intake form. No problem!

Intake Form:

Please complete the intake form and waiver here. Give yourself at least ten minutes. People with wordy answers may take 30+ minutes. The main intake is 15 questions and then there is an optional one with another 15 questions for people interested in coaching at the end of their sessions or by itself.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance via text or email.  Cancellations made with less notification will be charged the full price of the lesson and Sophia will provide a customized 30-60 minute video instead that either covers coaching strategies or provides a mat workout.

No packages will be sold. Instead, you’ll pay for however many lessons you have scheduled in the next month or two (you can adjust the quantity tab when purchasing online). Credit card fees are lowest for tap and pay in person, so this is my preferred method of payment.
